People,

Again, I say simply that gods do lie, they try and sway people to
support them. I am not asking you to look at knowledge or what knowledge
is. I am not trying to define mystery or what Niuri's realm/sphere of
influence is. I am saying simply that since she has entered the realm
she has done more to further evil than good. If this is not the mark of
an evil individual what is exactly? Most of you discount class,
allignment, family or friendship ties. Are we now going to discount
actions as well and live in a giant happy world of slate gray
neutrality...is that what the world is looking to be? I never once
claimed the patrons of shallam, the paladins, luminaries or any other
guild don't lie. I feel truly that Lanos never did though what he said
and didn't say may have mislead people...I hope that is not the case but
he isn't exactly around to ask. Again, you are ALL free to believe
whatever and whoever you like. You can follow blindly and
unquestioningly the word of the divine and truly believe that one good
act among a dozen evil acts makes you neutral. Or you can think for
yourself and decide. I personally dont feel neutrality is as simple as a
balance of good an evil. I feel that to be truly evil you have to be
unassociated with either. If you start working to further evil your good
acts are quickly outweighed. It is SO much easier to corrupt with the
taint of evil than it is to stay true to the path of good and right. I
think it is part of being mortal to stray from time to time and have to
struggle to return. If we were perfect in our quest for goodness I would
have noone to argue this point with. We are not, by a longshot, perfect.
We are not flawless and we do make mistakes. We currently know of no
"good" gods to pledge loyalty to since none of them will renounce evil
so many choose to follow only those parts that they feel are "right". I
personally do not understand that concept and have stayed true to Lanos
over the years. He is the only god, in my memory, to stand actively
against evil and not just in the instances he chose, but fully. As for
the origins of Niuri and her having the essence of Lanos, true or not it
matters little. You can feed a dog catfood his whole life and he still
grows up to be a dog...the essence she wields says little for her
personality or her ambitions. I am not calling all of those who would
defend her neutrality liars. I am sure many of you genuinely believe it.
Believing something does not make it true. It will take a very long time
for Lady Niuri to change my perceptions of her because it took her
decades to build those perceptions. To paraphrase something I read
somewhere else...how much can you truly trust a god that turns direction
and motivation so quickly and easily, even if they did turn? I tire of
people constantly going back to defending knowledge as neutral...it is a
silly argument as we all know that knowledge as a whole is of course
neutral. The application of that knowledge rarely is. Take a stand and
show me how the Lady Niuri is Neutral instead of her "realm of
influence" or whatever the common term is. Show me all the good she has
done to balance the evil she has unleashed and show me how the balance
of the garden is not shifted toward evil because she is there. If you
are unwilling to undertake these things then please let it rest. I am
fairly certain I will not change your mind and I am quite certain you
will not change mind if you keep rehashing the same weak arguments that
I already dismissed time and time again.
