Because I've not much gold to waste on worthless ignorance, I will make
this count.
Firstly. Out of sheer will, the Lady makes Herself known in everything.
The Order does the preaching, my dear, not the Goddess. Without your
knowing, Her realm convinced you that your pittering about the public
board was worth while. Corruption.
Perhaps our Order has not made one thing clear to the rest of you.
Corruption lies deep in everything. Nothing alive can escape my Lady's
realm, nor can the dead. Her beautiful fingers caress the prettiest of
maidens to the foullest of creatures, both virtuous and decrepit. I'd be
a fool to not include politicans as a prime example. Nothing is left
forgotten. Thus, nothing is kept from Her gift.
We are not cursed, my dear. We are the Chosen. Those of Her order revel
in Her presence. We were given the chance to make better use of our
mortal lives by spreading the gifts She procures. Quite obviously, we've
taken on Her whim as our own. Evidently, only the strong survive. She is
our Mother that holds us close to Her heart. If Her children deceive and
disrespect Her, She's no other choice but to let them go. They've
obviously outgrown their usefullness to our cause and should be left to
their own mechanisms.
Putrification? Decay? Simply wait until the Lady Belladona hears you
call her that. Because, as you well know, without Corruption, the
Consanguine would not exist. Nor would the world, for that matter. What
do you think would have happened if our Lady's 'degeneration' had not
taken affect when it did? The Ankyreans would soon grow too powerful and
mortalkind itself would never grow out of its stage of uselessness. We'd
be their experiments, their toys.
Our Lady seeks the betterment of all life. At its best, physical
corruption makes the weak stronger and the ugly beautiful. Corrupted
minds project their creations towards the heavens themselves and reap
the bounty of their successes. The various governments scattered across
the lands would not exist without corruption tying the departments
together so that one does not overpower the other. Distrust keeps the
world a place people like you, my dear, love and enjoy without knowing
what is going on.
Corruption cannot destroy, love. Corruption is change. Without
corruption of at least a minimal sort, love would be pointless. As would
happiness. Ponder that. And, you are very right- The Lady Corruption
knows just how to party.
Except, Her parties never end.
