Stealing and Lying

As you all know, the Paladin's guild are indeed, the moral leaders of
Aetolia. Which is why I find it strange indeed that one of their
secretaries would support stealing and would actually lie! It just seems
a bit hypocritical to me. Here is an interesting conversation I had with
Aren about why Shallam shouldn't have enemied Sinis (Because he really
let loose of the whole curse thing on accident). For those of you who
need a little bit of background, the curse was let loose because he
spoke the words on the idol. The idol originated from Zahmekoses, though
a certain unknown Rahnite stole it and gave it to Averroes.
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "The guy didn't
deserve it, seriously, it was totally an accident on his part."
Aren tells you, "Quite a Big one hmm? and who is going to believe it was
an accident."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "How would Sinis even
know how to use it? Or where to get it? He just found it on the ground."
Aren tells you, "No,He found it where we had it safe,He stole it."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "Is he a snake?"
Aren tells you, "Yes."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "Technically your city
stole it in the first place."
Aren tells you, "We dont know who stole it or how."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "Oh really? And your
city just happened to aquire it without knowing who gave it to you?"
(As you can see, our conversation was quite off track from Sinis by now,
as trolls like me have limited attention spans, I tend to drift from
topic to topic)
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "I surely know it
wasn't a present from Zahmekoses."
Aren tells you, "Damnit! Averroes spoke to me in tells and told me where
HE hid it."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "So Averroes stole
it?"
Aren tells you, "Averroes wouldnt tell me who stole it,No Averroes
didnt."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "So he condones
stealing now?"
Aren tells you, "Away from the hands of evil I guess so, yes."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "Oh, but when Aasoral
steals something it ISN'T ok... I see."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "But when YOU steal
something, it is."
Aren tells you, "WE didn't steal it, WE kept it safe from harm, Averroes
told me he will build a containment for the idol when the time comes, he
told me the comms toget and if you want to tell Zahm I know go ahead,I
could care less."
Aren tells you, "You done then?"
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "No, why wouldn't you
return something like that to Zahm? I mean, you guys are always saying
how horrible stealing is."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "Isn't returning
things to their rightful place also important?"
Aren tells you, "When Zahm came the first time and asked for it it was
still buried by Averroes, who gave me orders not to dig it up. So I
didnt tell Zahm I knew where it was, and thats why."
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "Ack, so you lied to
him?"Aren tells you, "Yes, I told him I didn't know where it was. Why
would I reveal that to him?"
You tell Angel of Light, Sir Aren Ryokus-De'vyen, "Ok, now I'm done."
Aren tells you, "So? You'll tell him all I told you?"
So next time you all get ready to crucify poor Aasoral for stealing that
clan (At least he was the Clan leader of it), or Daelar for buying it,
remember, Shallam, the Paladin's guild, and Averroes also steal and
accept thievery. (Not to mention lying! At least Aasoral and Daelar are
straightfoward)
