Firstly, let me clear a few things up with you so that there are no
misunderstandings.
-
I did not "Steal" your Paladin Clan. I paid for it fair and square, in a
private sale. The Alliance of Cannibals did find it ironic just whom
they were receiving such boon at the expense of, I assure you, but we
did nothing to prevent such, and this is why.
-
Some 3 or more times I have approached the Paladins Guild with open
arms, proclaiming to sign a treaty of mutual peace, protection and
respect. I have not attached any strings to these deals, and they were
truly altruistic and for the good of both. Every single time, I have
been flat out rejected on the grounds that "I am one of the greatest
evils ever to stalk sapience and no guild in their right mind would so
much as avoid spitting on me", and various other unbacked up reasons.
Now, I don't know about you, but when you come in all honesty, trying to
make peace and friends, and they condemn you for it, numerous times,
would that not dishearten you to the idea of peace?
-
It also opened my eyes to just what Aasoral was talking about. They are
no longer the defenders of what is right and good: They are the
defenders of what is convenient for the light. I knew this was true of
the Daru and Luminaries, but I had all faith in the Paladins until just
recently. So, with that in mind, by rejecting my offer of peace, the
Paladins have chosen war on all fronts. I am glad that you are 500k out
of pocket, for you are truly the scum you acuse me of being. Your clan
is now in better hands as instead of incouraging blind, self-driven and
corrupt defence of the light, it now brings 3 guilds together in a
spirit of friendship and respect.
-
As for the ex-Paladins I harbor, I say to you, "Tough Luck." They have
"seen the light" so to speak and they realised just how evil the light
is at its core.
-
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to set myself up as a saint: I'm not.
However I will say that when someone comes to me, and I see that they
have risen above their unenlightened state and offers me a chance to
strike back at that corruption, I will take it with open arms.
-
All you Paladins out there, you always have a welcome place in the ranks
of the Cabalists should you chose to rise above your Guild's current
sorry state.
-
All those who have been aggressively pursueing members of my guild will
be hunted without mercy. I ask that the Paladins do not attack my
novices, or non-combatants, and I will afford them the same mercy.
-
Goodday to you all.
Penned by my hand on the 14th of Haernos, in the year 110 MA.
