Saltsmaul,
The Hunters have been watching the impact that all towns and villages
have on the wilderness, for a very, very long time. Since before you
were born in fact, as I remember when you were growing up. Were
Shastaan's fishing posing a true threat to the ecosystems around them,
you know that we would have stopped their practice already.

I say that you know we would have done this thing, because you know
firsthand what we did to Tasur'ke when that village threatened the
wilderness with expansion. It is true that we would ultimately enjoy
seeing Shastaan cease to exist; Haern's image of the world does not
include villages with aspirations of becoming like cities.

There are however, many greater threats to the natural world, greater
threats to the Rhythm. Threats in the form of the greater cities, and
the spread of Vampirism. If you truly share a caring for the natural
ecosystems then I encourage you to stand against the other cities also,
for if you do not, and only choose to argue against Shastaan for some
other reason, then you are sinking into hypocrisy.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Midautumn, in the year 110 MA.
