Shallam Laws

Greetings everyone.
Let us see.. HELP LAWS SHALLAM. What do we find near the bottom of the
INCREDIBLY long list?
E. Phasing
No serpent may use his or her skill of "phase" within city limits. If a
serpent is discovered to be using said skill, they will be made an enemy
of the city and a 2,000gp fine will be imposed upon them.

NOTE No person may be hidden from view by any manner within a shop's
front room or stock room. If a person is found to be hidden is such a
manner, said person will be fined 5,000gp and, depending on the severity
of the transgression, a one-year enemy status.

Hm. How.. sad. So you've not only started banning individual skills,
you've decided that anything that could possibly offer any privacy or
anonymity should be banned? Whatever for? We all know your shops are
well guarded as it is. And if a shopkeeper doesn't have the wit to
SEARCH and eat some echinacea, then I really don't have much to say to
them. These new laws are absurd. It would be no better than banning the
act of 'sleeping' in the street. Or demanding that no one shall be
wielding a weapon, because that means they might just have the urge to
hit someone with it. You already have laws against murder, and
aggressive actions. You have laws against theft aswell. Like my
imaginary "No weapons" law, your "no hiding/phasing" laws are just..
overkill. How far will you go, Shallam? Why not just ban everyone who
isn't a paladin, rogue priest, luminary, or daru from the city? And what
happens if a particular snake OWNS said shop? Can they no longer hide in
their own shop? Who are you to say what can or can't be done on
purchased property? Just my input.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Slyphian, in the year 103 MA.
