This missive is to inform those whom it may concern that the following
units have ascended to public status within Renegade Legion ranks:
Murad
Cimerii
As of the next howling, public member aspects will take full effect.
Also as of the next howling, all previous charges levied upon those who
have previously violated RL law in regards to Murad and/or Cimerii are
dropped. A general amnesty relating to Murad/Cimerii will be issued, and
all individuals who have wronged them will be pardoned.
A clarification should be made upon what occurs should a public RL
breach Legionnaire charter. In the event that a public RL violates a
charter precept, said public RL has essentially surrendered his or her
right to call upon RL aid in any further confrontations until the
offense has been cleared. So no, RL does not intend to jack-boot a
public member that has broken corporate policy, but rather, open season
is allowed on any member that oversteps charter bounds.
On a side note, Achavis left out an additional incident with Duiran
which was reflective of Duiran's heavy-handed "This is the way its going
to be" (ripped from Strung) attitude toward everyone in general.
Vengence, a sentinel during the time of the incident, was enemied to
Duiran for allegedly assisting RL (read: talking to Spirokai). Following
a short outcry from Vengence that brought public attention upon his
situation, he was unenemied and the matter was passed over. Assuming
Duiran realized that letting small sparks continue to burn is generally
a bad idea, their relatively quick silencing of the problem was prudent.
However, to the person on the receiving end of their bureaucratic shaft,
it probably wasn't quick enough (hell, it shouldn't even have occurred).
Another example in support of Achavis' "Shoot first, ask questions
later" claim is a case involving Mephiston prior to his application into
Renegade Legion ranks. This particular time, the setting was situated in
the Azdun dungeon forests. RL was clearing the foilage in the area, and
Mephiston arrived (along with another individual [name either forgotten
or buried somewhere within RL archives]) to take a look at Legionnaire
activities. A conversation commenced shortly after, with RL units taking
small breaks in between cooking forestry to engage in small talk with
the Mephiston and his companion.
Within a quarter of an Aetolian day, Mephiston was enemied to Duiran
under the charge of assisting RL (read once again: talking to Spirokai).
Apparently, the fact that (being a vampire) Mephiston couldn't have
assisted us even if he desired to do so never crossed the minds of
Duiran. Neither apparently did the fact that there was absolutely no
evidence incriminating Mephiston (because he didn't do anything). Then
again, talking to an individual one hates is usually legitimate reason
enough to enemy them a person. Nothing quite like dictating what/who
your members are allowed to associate with when it comes to increasing
your organization's appeal and producing members that aren't retarded.
Just look at Duiran, with their intelligent members and enormous roster.
Oh, wait a sec...
Currently, the only thing that is probably preventing Duiran from
getting fully backlashed by its idiotic organizational attitude is the
fact that it can strip skills (concotions literally, woodlore and groves
practically) from the two classes (druids, sentinels) most inclined to
support it ("Just to make sure nothing goes wrong...like them not
obeying us"). That is, in addition to its forest enemy effects (2 sets
of room defenses [I think Duiran is the only organization left that
retains room defs-the others, such as cities, have had to pay for their
defenses]). I took the liberty of excluding their executive ability to
instigate herb bans, as their previous attempts (including the current
long-standing one on me and other Legionnaires) were jokes. With their
"foreign policy" continuing to antagonize the people they are try to
glean support from, they should pray that they never lose their one and
only means of controlling the fearful; enemy status. For if/when a day
comes and Duiran finds that it receives no benefits to its organization
other than its supposed desire to help the forest, it will have many to
answer to. Those that formerly cowered before enemyhood will no longer
be looking back at Duiran in fear, but in defiance. And anger. No
organization would prefer to be Duiran on such a day.
That is all.
