Another song- Last words.

I cannot write a well-composed poem in this state... no well-meaning
obituaries and eulogies- just a last word to a

dear friend.

I was too late, I know
Was it really all for show?
How true was it, how can I tell?
or Should we condemn Love as well?

Not that it matters-
now you're gone
reminding you to move along
I can't let go, of every smile, each second spent
every laugh and merriment
every star and every song...

I'm lost for words
what can I say? an empty heartan empty dayan empty mind,an empty soul,
an empty place where you used to liveand kept me strongBut I will
sing-maybe one last time
for me, for you
the stars will be your requiem
their every sparkle, every line
I see you now, I can't let go-
I can't let go, but I will sing,
for you another song.

Mourning tears will have to wait
flickering anger, sadness, hate
but now my paper heart is torn
it cannot be-you can't be gone.
But I will sing-
Just one...last...time...
for you, another song.

... Goodbye, old friend.

to Madelyn, who lives on in our hearts.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Severin, in the year 130 MA.
