A Prayer for Answers

Captivating were your luring eyes.
I was not strong to resist.
I was on your side,
I was there for you.

You break me and take me down.
Am I to blame?
Everything in time.
I must let you go.

I think of you.

We can never meet again.
Unchanging, never knowing why.
As the years shuffle by
Were you not my fate?

In the absence of your laughter,
I am forsaken of your touch.
Through the arcane sweep of midnight
So callous, this vision of you.

I falter and am forgone.
I can't deny.
I am buried in your helplessness.
Was it wrong to love you?

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Midautumn, in the year 129 MA.
