An Invocation to Starlight

Written by: Alydris Huecahuitl, Chylde of Nature
Date: Tuesday, May 11th, 2004
Addressed to: Everyone

suspended timelessly in a sunset,

i dream of you, painting colors
of sun-baked desert sands, ivory
unto my cooling jasmine skin;

i lay with my closed eyes
faced towards the endless sky --
we are always infinite there,
and not forgotten

as sunlight eludes us,
i wish to her new-born stars
(for you), counting each one
in its luminescence.

slowly they take form about their mother
moon, sweating from skyline a fine mist
in their dark dances -- and i,
temporary as night-fall, dance too.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Lanosian, in the year 128 MA.
