Down But Not Out

________________

We have made known our past
The histories of my warriors are sacred
We've made goal and met them
Our strength is solid and our faith is anchored
My trusted band of heroes
Exemplifying bravery, never cower
My team of valiant champions
Exemplifying fairness, control their power
We neither boast nor gloat
Our achievement for we cannot find a reason
When our talents brag for us
As they appear to do almost every season

Let them have the present
We feel we owe them at least one "today."
Because tomorrow is ours
We'll get them next, then what will they have to say?
What will be more remembered,
A careless victory or a noble defeat?
It makes little difference
At our second advent there shall be no repeat
They deserve little credit
We have lost the battle, but not the war
And tomorrow knows not today
And they shall feel defeat such as never before

For the future is ours
Our title, our pride, our throne be reclaimed
We shall have tomorrow
We are down but not out, we will again be famed
You may have the upper hand
But it won't last for long
Strap on armour, draw our swords
We're coming through like a storm
We applauded your efforts
When you turned tail and ran
For you have lost this war
Before it ever began.

We have made known our past
Let them have the present
For the future is ours
