Doomed to Wander

I won't abandon Truth,
Though Truth's abandoned me.
You all think that you see
Who I am and
What I stand for.
But I struggle for a dream,
Of liberty, equality,
Lives not lived in fear,
Of those who'd steal them
Endlessly.
I was made to watch you slay,
Made to live my life your way.
Lately I've come to see,
I've not seen anything,
But I've been through all I need
To know my place
To have no place,
Forever my own.
I am hunted from all sides,
But it's not my enemies
That torment me inside;Do even my allies believe in me?
My darkest hour is always here;
You'll let me fall,
Even you who know what I've done
At all.
The Gods are mocking me;
All that I lived for is
All that I die for.
I'm doomed to my eternal fate,
Fleeing from place to place;
Escape my past; my future hunts me;
I take the reigns to take a stand,
And took a fall--
No where to run, no one left to run to
At all.
Driven by a force
I can't contain,
I'll rebel and I'll fight
To ascend to all that is me.
I've not betrayed myself,
And I'd tell my truth to all.
Not all that wander are lost.
The loneliness is killing me,
But that's all right;
The only life I can lead is my own;
Be true to myself; embrace my fall,
Wander existence, pathless, alone.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Severin, in the year 63 MA.
