The raven on wartorn winds

Wings unfurled, and seething eyes
that dredge the depths of dawning skies,
divining clouds that cling below,
once ice, dissolved in morninga glow

Clutching skies that carry free
above an anguished leaden sea,
dispersing dust of distant stars
Memories formed in battlescars

Swooping to a silent shore
beckoned by the Hunter's roar,
at last to feel the calming breeze
and listen to the ancient trees

Stalking prey in gilded arm
the gleaming bells ring in alarm
travelling forlorn through dawnless nights
in search of making errant rights

The dunes of vast deserted lands,
with shadowed stones on windswept sands,
where sanguine might and bounties lost
disgorge faint groans in mourning frost

Blotting out the fullest moon
the wings beat a banshee tune
the lightning dance and prance aglow
upon a war-torn path in the plateau

Lips tasting cool torrential rains,
beyond the realm of binding chains,
drinking the freedom they exude
in thirsting drops of solitude.

Combined vanquishing the shadowed few
our armies soaked in midnight dew,
beneath the pierce of wartime screams
we shall exist to make new dreams.

Penned by my hand on Quensday, the 24th of Chakros, in the year 504 MA.
