Father

I didn't need a father,
But I felt I had found one.
Guided me along the way,
Showed me how to be free.
From zealot to monk,
I became more wild.
I found the true me.

From respect to disdain,
My pedestal view of you crumbled.
No more my idol,
No more my aspiration.
Just another man,
One who sees me as a failure.

Shattered and broken,
The path to discovery comes again.
Wishing for a tether to be repaired,
But a futile wish.
A song to remain lost in time,
Though ever unforgotten.

Penned by my hand on Tisday, the 6th of Ios, in the year 504 MA.
