On a porch in the blessed dark of cool shade,
amidst a rumbling rainforest's summer storm,
upon an unforgettable night so warm,
with great vodka and some tangy lemonade,
that was where his fateful first move was made.
Gestures of romance outside of his norm,
from steady friendship to love it did transform,
a pact to share adventure lovingly made.

Now they must be rivers and valleys apart,
one made to roam whilst the other feels them gone.
One's sorrow made it a trial to depart,
the other's twin agony woven in song.
Yet always their promise binds them heart to heart,
awaiting joyous reunion and love's new dawn.
