A Father's Hand

Lone down the road the falcon soared
Long without a nest, aloft forevermore
Looking at the ground that did continue down
With just the wind and caresses of sunlight surround
Stumbling through the air broken wings did ill fare
Knowing no one was ever going to be there to care

Lone down the road the falcon heard a voice
Long with a gentle, caring yet stern noise
Looking at the ground that did continue down
With a gaze piercing from way up high in the sky
Struggling to see from where the sound did hie
Knowing it was no illusion that she could deny

Lone down the road the falcon beat at the wind
Long with much effort while her wingfeathers bend
Looking at the ground that did continue down
With a focus on the Lord standing patiently to be found
Strength in her surround as she began to circle around
Knowing her path too alone to ever try to surmount

Lone down the road the falcon did begin to land
Long with confusion at the man's outstretched hand
Looking at the ground that did continue down
With a gaze weary from the world that had battered and bruised
Striking out at all who used and made others slaved and abused
Knowing that life was a broken song from a twisted muse

Lone down the road the falcon felt a touch
Long with her heart beating too fast, too much
Looking at the ground that did continue down
With a surprise at the words that spoke of Freedom, Truth, Life
Strive to shadow deny and from these shackles defy
Knowing that courage and Valor will help you fly
