Fire

A warmth during the coldest nights
The heat beneath the fallen man's pyre
The giver of light and forger of steel
This is the joy of the fire.

The warmth where you warm your fingertips
The heat beneath a pot of delicious stew
The giver of pain if you get too close
Pull back quickly when you do.

This is fire.

Penned by my hand on Falsday, the 14th of Severin, in the year 492 MA.
