BLOODY McGEE

It wasn?t so very many a year ago,
In these caves you die to see,
That a ghoul there haunted that you may know
By the name of Bloody McGee
And this ghoul he lived with no other thought
Than to kill and be killed by me.

I was child and he was so wild,
In these caves you die to see,
And we fought with a joy that was more that joy-
I and my Bloody McGee-
With a hate that the winged Harpies of old
Coveted him and me.

And this be the reason that, not long ago,
In these caves you die to see,
Some kid?s sword went swinging, stinging
My ghoul, my Bloody McGee
So that his skeletal kinsmen came
And stole him away from me,
To offer him as an offering
Away from these caverns and me.

The Harpies, not half so joyous in their Hell,
Went envying him and me-
Yes! ? that is the reason (as you should know,
In this caverns you die to see)
Some kid?s sword came down swinging,
Stinging and killing my Bloody McGee.

But our Hate it was stronger by far than the envy
Of those who were younger than we-
Of those much less wise than we-
And neither the Harpies of old
Nor Slyphe with his ugly blue crabs
Can ever dissever my soul from my soulless
My very ugly Bloody McGee.

For the moon never shines, without bringing my the cries
Of my horrid Bloody McGee
And the stars never rise, but I he?ll feel my cold eyes
My gruesome Bloody McGee
And so, when the time strikes, I?ll be back to fight
With my Horrid- my Gruesome- my ugly, oh so ugly,
Ghoul called Bloody McGee
In the caverns you die to see.
