Untitled Sonnet, Variach 7th, 256 MA

Another morning dark above the breeze,
horizon melting green and indigo.
As light ascends I fall upon my knees
like I belonged to endless ebb and flow.
The birds rehearse the songs that break through blue
with bands of clouds illumined against the sky.
A glimpse of paradise the sun renews
as heaven sheds its nightly starred disguise.
Auroral vespers, golden rays I praise:
Oh let my soul refract this shining light
and mirror colours of prismatic days.
Oh walk beside me out of quiet night.
Eternal sunlight mingled with the sea;
an ocean dawn revealed this truth to me.

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Lleian, in the year 416 MA.
