Daddy's Little Angel

When I was just a little thing,
My daddy called me close.
He said, 'My dear, when you get big,
Any boy that touches will be toast.�"

I laughed and said
"Sweet daddy, dear, you needn't fear,
You're the one I love the most."

When I was just a little squirt,
My daddy drew me near.
He told me something smart
And now I say it for you here
�Now pumpkin nose,
Stay away from those silly little boys.
They like to kiss and I won't miss
If I must break your 'toys'."

I laughed and said
"Oh daddy dear, you needn't fear.
You're the one I love the most."

When I was younger yet,
My daddy beckoned me to him
He said �Now sweetheart,
Don't you start to let them males win.
They like to touch and way too much.
I may get feisty still
And off he went to sharpen stuff
In the forge and in the mill

I laughed and said,
"Now daddy dear, you needn't fear.
You're the one I love the most."

And now I'm grown and daddy says,
"Now sweetie, listen here.
I know you're all growed up now
And it's the worst I fear!
If those boys kiss you once,
I will have their head.
But if you kiss them back, sweetheart,
You'll fill me with great dread."

I just laugh and say
"Now daddy dear, you needn't fear.
You're the one I love the most."

And so it is and will always be.
No boy could take my father�s glory.
For my love for my daddy transcends all
...though a man would be a different story!!
