Celesmas

The celebration of Celesmas was winding down and all was peaceful in the
lands until a small cry was heard from Kalebb. Elenina, the Astrologer,
peered through her telescope to view the stars when she noticed that
they weren't exactly in their correct places. She searched for answers
to this mystery, not finding any before something truly devastating
occured.

All of the sudden, all of the stars began to fall from the skies. What
started as amazement and appreciation quickly became terror as the
constellations that formerly stood in the sky rose up and took on
physical form here on Aetolia. The entire Mejevsavelnel, the band of
major constellations that ring the skies, stood towering over the
continent, some frightened by their new home and some angry about their
displacement. Travelling to Hycanthus, Elenina revealed to the lands
that there was a pathway back to the heavens if only they could keep the
constellations at bay, and not kill them. Hycanthus, on the other hand,
realized there was an opportunity in this and told those who would
listen that if they slew a constellation and brought it back to the Pool
of Stars, their patron God could gain power over the heavens.

Many attempted to slay the constellations, while some tried to help and
heal them. Elenina revealed that errant stars that fell on the ground
could be given to the constellations to heal them. But, the
constellations were just too powerful for most and they stayed out of
the path of these creatures.

In the end only three of the Mejevsavelnel remained to return to their
rightful place in the skies. Nine had been slain by mortals, and quite a
few of the minor constellations as well.

Aetolia has yet to see what the Gods will choose to replace them with in
the heavens.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Midautumn, in the year 120 MA.
