I've added a new config option today: wrapwidth. This will allow you to
specify how many characters will be displayed per line before a new one
is started. Alternatively, you can specify 0, which will just let your
client wrap the lines.

Due to this change, those with Subterfuge Illusion or a Staff of
Illusion will be able to add up to 5 new lines in their illusions by
using the tag $nl. Be warned, however, that each new line increases the
mana and balance cost of the illusion. This does not currently extend to
any other illusion creation.
