At the top of our new web site, you'll notice a button entitled, "Vote
here for Aetolia as the #1 MUD!" I wanted to take a minute to explain
why that button is there and its significance.

By clicking the button and voting for Aetolia, you bump us up in the
rankings of a popular MUD list site where a lot of people go when
looking for a MUD that's just right for them. Ultimately, though it is
nice to be highly ranked and compare ourselves to other MUDs (all of
which are inferior, naturally), the real purpose of being highly ranked
on the site is that it attracts new players to us. And as I've said a
dozen other times in a dozen other contexts before, new players are the
lifeblood of the game. The more new players we see on a regular basis,
the more our cities, guilds, and divine ranks can grow - and the more
events and development we can support.

So I urge each of you to make it a habit to pull up our web site and
vote for Aetolia every day (you can vote as often as every 12 hours and
have it counted). You'll not only be doing the game a very real and very
appreciated service, but you will very likely be helping to improve your
own experience here in the weeks, months, and years to come.
