War in Aetolia

Recently we held a Town Hall meeting to discuss some of the future goals
for Aetolia, concentrating specifically on our intentions to create an
updated war system for competition between city states. In an effort to
observe what may continue to work and what will need to be retooled for
a new system, I have enabled once again Aetolia's original War system.
The helpfiles of importance to this system, for those not familiar with
it, are HELP WAR, HELP MILITIA, and HELP DIPLOMACY. At this time, HELP
OCCUPATION is not relevant as that aspect of the war system has been
disabled.
Please note that where cities have previously generated a set amount of
commodities every month, that amount is now dependent upon the land
holdings of the city. Furthermore, where Duiran previously generated
some commodities automatically and held forest land automatically, this
is no longer the case. Their conquering ability is no longer restricted
to natural environments and standard supply path rules apply.
Aspects of the war system may change at any time, so be aware of the
volatility if getting involved. This is up to and including the
suspension of any wartime activities and capturing if needs be.
Militia members should note that actively commanding troops will open
you up to aggression from members of opposing militias, but simply being
a member of your city's militia will not make you a target for enemies
excepting such circumstances as you involve yourself in any conflict
related to wartime activities that can be considered an act of
aggression. At that point you will be considered an enemy combatant
while a member of your militia, and any troop related activities may be
used as an impetus for attack.
We will be monitoring the behavior of players involved in the war system
very carefully. Please use the forum topic located at
http://forums.aetolia.com/index.php?showtopic=11097 for discussion on
any aspect of the current system.
