Courtless Kin,

You think that devotion is so simple and easy: that to die hundreds of times proves your mettle. But the weakest hatchling is consumed and forgotten. There is no pride to be had in frailty.

In the North, our predecessors, the Ankyreans, demonstrated their devotion to the gods through excellence - not failure - and we emulate their dedication - not to words but to the acquisition of true power. You write challenge to the Citadel and so I make clear:

You worship our Queen, but we are Her city, and I - who have grasped at Divinity and written my legend into the stars - shall always be your better.

In service to Citadel and Sky,

Sheryni Nebre'seir
