Whilst I find inherent amusement in the bickering of idealism versus science...

Let us take a moment for a lesson combined as a whole, Sapience.

[LESSON ONE]
First and foremost, with all due respects to those who find Despair and that which it entails suitable, such is a means of belief, an embodiment of Despair itself surely an act which requires discipline. Too often some will confuse and even mis-use the very definition of such things, to the disciplines of others, after all Despair by definition pertains.

SUBTEXT A: [Discipline]
despair
d??sper

noun
1.
the complete loss or absence of hope.
"driven to despair, he throws himself under a train"
synonyms: hopelessness, disheartenment, discouragement, desperation, distress, anguish, unhappiness

verb
1.
lose or be without hope.
"we should not despair"
synonyms: lose hope, abandon hope, give up, lose heart, lose faith, be discouraged, be despondent, be demoralized, resign oneself

Let us note that it may be used as objective or subjective as one desires being both suitable as not only a Thing that exists, but also an action. Truly to embody by definition is a feat in its own right, now then...I am no harbinger of Corruption but I have found my nose in the books often enough to have a vague understanding and you know faith is a fickle thing as it is, so ones convictions can be curious and questionable as many can embody such a thing in different ways, but the subtext remains the same.

[LESSON TWO]
The Cycles of life, the very embodiment that that which dies returns to the Earth, this is a scientific basis of a cycle, a rhythm so to speak as many in Duiran would call and to upset this balance is by all means anathema to "ideal life".

That being said some have found means to circumvent this Cycle, and that is so their choice, a curious choice but one which once again falls upon Divinity bestowing a means upon mortalkind to prolong their existence beyond traditional means. IE: The gift of the Earthenlord Ivoln and that of undeath or that furthermore of Blood gift and an immortality granted by its gifts.

Back to the point on hand though, that which lives comes from the earth, nourished by the death and detritus of that before it, only to then create the food that sustains the life until once again it dies. Such is a natural cycle and one that really does not require intervention, as it just is as it is.

SUBTEXT B: [The Living Cycle]
Natural: Birth -> Life -> Death

Living Accepted Belief: Birth -> Life -> Death -> Dhar Meddling -> Life......Repeat
Undead Accepted Belief: Birth -> Life -> Ivoln Meddling -> Undeath

Frankly our existence as living mortals once again breaks that cycle being able to return to life by what is deemed "Natural" means by another Gods will, for if Dhar did not allow our souls to return we would be dead...and very well should be dead. So his allowing us to repeatedly be returned to life -also- breaks the natural cycle, but since it is by a Gods will that is favored by those of the Cycle it is okay? Only the Flora and Fauna and then those selected not worthy of the Gods favor fall into the Natural cycle, the rest of us, bastards of a belief system

In Conclusion, the rants of idealism versus science, and then back to Idealism
But Science is fact, and Knowledge is always greater than ones Faith.
Seek Knowledge, not Nonsense.
