Lost in the dark I often find myself
My eyes unaccustomed to the dark despite the years Ive been trapped
there
Groping and screaming,
Hearing the echoes within myself
So deep and large, despite the confines I feel pressing in.
Somehow you found the back door and slipped in through the silence
Hands slipping round my mind in comfort
Despite knowing you werent there
But unable to see for the shadows
And suddenly a candle seemed lit, lighting my soul
Warm and understanding, unfaltering
You were there with soothing words
Always knowing which words would unlock my madness
Dissipating it like mist
Candle you, seeing out the blackened corners inside me
Taking my hand and showing me
Chasing all the monsters away like no one ever could
Like I never could.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Severin, in the year 133 MA.
