Legacy

Though I was born too late to know Him well
I see my Father's face in all my friends
'Twas He who built the City where I dwell
And His great plans that pay me dividends

The Syssin were a Mother to me true
And they have kept His teachings quite alive
Through their words I learned all that I must do
To Succeed, to Remember, and to Thrive

Though He was lost to us when I was young
His Works have laid the path I walk today
Morale may guide the words upon my tongue
But Artifice has paved for me the way

Fools believe we'd leave His work unfinished
While He is dead, He is not diminished

Penned by my hand on Falsday, the 19th of Ivolnos, in the year 13 AC.
