Hi folks,
We've updated personal ambiences with a new system that allows you to manage them directly through:
AMBIENCE
Your existing ambiences have been migrated automatically and will continue to fire as before. You can still use AMBIENCE ON or AMBIENCE OFF to control automatic ambience firing globally.
But now you can now enable or disable individual ambiences (if you're lucky enough to have multiple!) with:
AMBIENCE ENABLE <#>
AMBIENCE DISABLE <#>
You can also manually fire one of your enabled ambiences once per hour, even if automatic firing is switched off:
AMBIENCE FIRE <#>
The usual room population and cutscene restrictions still apply.
If you have an unredeemed loyal ambience token, you can now draft and submit the ambience yourself instead of needing to file an issue:
AMBIENCE NEW
AMBIENCE SET <#> SELF <message>
AMBIENCE SET <#> ROOM <message>
AMBIENCE SHOW <#>
AMBIENCE SUBMIT <#>
Both messages have a maximum length of 200 characters and must be a single sentence. Other ambience restrictions will still apply as well, such as: needs to fit the game lore; can't be too silly; if magic is involved you should have access to that particular magic; if God stuff is involved you need permission from that God. It also can only affect you and not other people/the environment, etc.
Room messages should use the following substitutions to refer to your name and pronouns:
$(caster$)
$(he$)
$(his$)
$(him$)
You can also capitalize the first letter (e.g. for the start of a sentence) by adding a plus, such as:
$+(his$)
If a submission is rejected, you'll be notified and the ambience will return to an editable draft so you can make changes and resubmit it. You can also delete an unapproved draft with:
AMBIENCE DELETE <#>
