Limerick contest

Some years ago, I announced a Grand Limerick Contest in response to a
rather boastful challenge by one Helix Amaratha. Many aspiring poets
entered, and the immortals sat down to decide on a winner. Naturally, as
the fair and impartial Creator that I am, I established a blind judging
process wherein the other immortals judged the verses without knowing
who wrote them. But when the judging was done, there was just one
problem: My entry was not among the winners. It didn't even get a single
vote, in fact. Clearly, something was fundamentally wrong. So I threw
away the votes and made them all do the blind judging again. This
time... I still didn't get a single vote. Obviously, sinister and
powerful forces were at work here. I threw away the blind judging
results and had them do it again, this time with names attached to the
limericks - just to avoid confusion, you understand. And yet still, no
votes for their Creator, Lord of the Divine Halls, Source of All
Creation, the Midnight Star. This time, I was just plain irritated. So I
took all their essence away for their cheekiness, threw away the
results, and did the judging Myself. Only I still didn't win. However,
neither did Helix, having failed to submit even one limerick to the
contest. So though I didn't win, I didn't lose either. It'll have to do.
The person who DID win, however, was Arxalant with nine excellent
limericks. The runners-up were Theragil and Kaezel, and nine others won
merit prizes. Congratulations to them all, and I encourage everyone to
read the best of the lot at
