Esteem seems to be working pretty smoothly. Some of you have noticed
occasions where it appears that someone's esteem rank decreases after
you give them a positive esteem vote. There wasn't a connection between
the two events, but the system self-regulates such that it could on
occasion give that appearance. I have tweaked some of the internals a
bit to make this happen less often, as well as make most esteem votes
last about twice as long (I reduced the decay rate, in other words).

Most of you are using your esteem votes appropriately and responsibly,
which is wonderful. A rare few have been caught trying to cheat the
system to their own benefit. They have found that it doesn't pay.
