Explore the World of Aetolia

Aetolia spans two continents shaped by centuries of conflict, discovery, and divine interference. Sapience is the heart of it: a land recovering from the Grand Artifice and a terrible Revelation, where four player-run city-states compete for control of ylem and push the story forward with every conflict. Albedos lies beyond, discovered when flying Dreikathi war machines crossed the sky and revealed a continent of gods and rival empires.

The Cities of Aetolia

Aetolia’s four city-states sit at the center of its politics, religion, and conflict. Bloodloch and Spinesreach are Shadow-aligned: one a city of strength, undead, and unyielding will; the other a scientific bastion devoted to the study of Shadow itself. Enorian and Duiran hold the Spirit side, with Enorian driving toward righteousness and the Light, and Duiran committed to protecting the cycle of life and the natural world. Which city you join shapes your alliances, your enemies, and the story you get to tell.

City Governance and Player-Run Politics

Govern a city or serve on its ruling council to leave your mark on a constantly evolving story. Lead guilds and cities to war and take stands that will be remembered in Aetolia’s persistent world. With a political and election system rooted in each city’s story, your character can find a home in amoral northern theocracies, militant desert empires, staunch protectorates, or dark, ritual-laden nature communes.

Aetolia’s Story and Lore

Aetolia is a living world with a history that keeps being written. The continent of Sapience carries the scars of the Grand Artifice, a catastrophic event that fractured civilization and set the four city-states against one another. Major story sagas, a full timeline, and detailed lore archives are available for players who want to dig into the history behind the world they are playing in.
