Beginnings

Bloody handprints,
pitter, patter,
laugh in madness,
watch them shatter.

Drip and drop,
to see it well,
prayers beget,
an empty shell.

Soon an end,
with new beginnings,
sacrificial lambs',
pale bleatings.

Turn to black stars,
see them shine,
fathomless beauty,
cold and mine.

Sway and swing,
'pon that tree,
where whips dangle,
birds do flee.

Penned by my hand on Quensday, the 22nd of Midsummer, in the year 491 MA.
