Relic Items Relic Items

This file is intended to combine all relics, cryptic/promo/retired/etc, 
into a single file for ease in locating details about them.

These are not permanent: They will either eventually decay, or be destroyed upon use. These can be obtained, in most cases, from cryptic chests.

A repair kit
* 4x an assortment of tools

This relic is consumed on use. You can use it to REPAIR <item> to extend the decay time of any item by 100 real life days.

A dissonance bell
* 4x a cracked porcelain bell

You can RING BELL to create a monolith effect in the current room for 10 mins. Can be used three times before it is destroyed.

A resplendence token 
* 4x a rainbow-hued fragment
Allows you to emote in colour! Simply EMOTE <colour> <text>. This item will eventually decay.

A brooch of lifesense 
* 4x a snapped gold brooch

Grants access to the LIFESENSE ability, which grants a defence that will
 inform you when (but not where) someone comes back to life from the 
death sequence - the opposite to deathsight. Works for undead, living, 
and vampires rising after a death mistform. This is a permanent relic.

an offshore translocator 
* 1x a palm-sized bowl of platinum     
* 1x a handful of cracked diamonds
* 1x a transparent crystal cap  
* 1x an erratic translocator needle 

When you USE TRANSLOCATOR, this will take you to a special room that has
 exits leading to each of the three main islands: Asper, Ulangi and 

a sanguine choker
* 2x a dark chain link
* 1x a stunning, blood red ruby
* 1x a platinum gemstone setting

When worn, you will gain 2% of your health back when hitting a NPC. 2 second cooldown between procs.

a keeneye monocle
* 4x a shattered monocle piece

Increased chance of critical hits. Stacks with all other crit increasers.

an Albedi sunspear
1x a glowing spear tip
1x a gleaming cap of platinum
2x a broken rune-engraved spear shaft

Throwing the sunspear into the sky will cause it to break apart into 
shafts of light that penetrate each eld in the room, instantly killing 
them. The sunspear is destroyed on use.

a dreamscape mirror (RETIRED)
4x a shattered mirror shard

Creates a dream version of an 20 room area radius around you, including 
mobs, you GAZE MIRROR. Essentially, your own private bashable instance. 
Destroyed upon use.

Note: Things like mob reactions, and special exits will not work in the dream instance.

These are PERMANENT. And will be BOUND TO YOU
 when you assemble them. Assemble with care! The assembled item 
disappears when assembled! These can be obtained, in most cases, from 
cryptic chests.

A golden idol depicting a RACE
* 1x a small, golden head
* 1x a small, headless torso
* 1x a pair of small golden arms
* 1x a pair of small golden legs

Each Howling, the idol's appearance will shift to represent a new race. Holding the idol grants you all the base abilities of the race it is mimicking.

A four-pointed star of the Priesthood
* 1x a length of brass chain
* 1x a wooden circle etched with sacraments
* 1x four-pointed wooden star
* 1x a gem of spirit

When someone breaks your magical shield (via hammer, raze, etc), you will be healed for a small portion (2%) of your health. Does not work when your shield is stripped by a skill that strips defences randomly, unless it always strips shield first.

An abdalite glove
* 1x an icewyrm glove
* 1x a focusing gem
* 1x a glass feedback reservoir
* 1x a strand of pure earth essence

Allows you to do CLENCH GLOVE which summons (temporary) rubble across all exits. Usable once per Howling.

An ornately-framed mirror
* 1x top half of a mirror frame
* 1x bottom half of a mirror frame
* 2x a smashed mirror shard

Will alert you whenever someone tries to sense you. Does not reveal who 
did it, and only works on sense skills that are targeted directly at 
you (i.e. farsee, and not scent).

A compass of disorientation 
* 1x a compass rose diagram
* 1x a magnetized compass needle
* 1x an empty gold-forged compass case
* 1x a broken length of gold chain

Rearranges the exits of the current room temporarily when you SHAKE it. 
The room will still connect to the same adjacent rooms, but the exits 
leading to them will be different. The effect lasts five minutes and can
 only be done once an Aetolian day.

A bracer of hammered ilmenite 
* 4x chunks of ilmenite ore

Glows whenever someone on your enemy list enters the same area as you. 
Does not bypass hood and various states such as phase and blackwind.

Eyes of the Observer 
* 1x Left Eye of the Observer
* 1x Right Eye of the Observer
* 1x an ornate silver gemstone setting
* 1x a silver jewellery chain loop

Allows you to DIAGNOSE other people in the same room as you. Has a longer equilibrium time than self-diagnose.

A compass-inlaid ilmenite bracer 
* 1x Eyes of the Observer
* 1x bracer of hammered ilmenite
* 1x an ornately-framed mirror
* 1x compass of disorientation

NOTE: Unlike other set item artifacts, all of those artifacts need to belong to you.

This artifact contains all the powers of its set items, with bonuses! Bonuses are as follows:
Eye:     Can remote diagnose anybody on the same continent.
Mirror:  Reveals the name of who sensed you.
Bracer:  Bypasses hood, phase, blackwind, etc.
Compass: The exit scrambling affects adjacent rooms as well.

The star chart of Elenina 
* 1x the northeast segment of a star chart
* 1x the southeast segment of a star chart
* 1x the southwest segment of a star chart
* 1x the northwest segment of a star chart

By utilizing the star chart, you can increase the influence of a particular star upon you to receive its effects. However, it will also bring forth a random negative star to influence you. While under the effects of the star chart, all other astronomy effects are cancelled out.

Usage: STARCHART, refer to HELP ASTRONOMY for a list of valid stars.

A golden translocator
4x a golden translocator fragment

This relic artifact is a permanent version of the normal translocator 
relic that can take you to a room with exits leading to all the islands 
of Sapience.

A Link of the Ethereal
4x an ethereal chain link

This relic artifact allows you to create a portal between your haven and
 another's. The owner of the other haven must agree to the portal being 
placed. You can change the destination of the portal once per Aetolian 
year. Use HAVEN PORTAL <target>. Cooldown is tied to the artifact, so owning multiple lets you create multiple portals.

A fake identity
4x a torn identification paper

This relic artifact allows you to replace the entirety of your HONOURS 
with a single custom line. Subject to approval by the administration.

A hunter's handbook
* 4x doppleganger-skin parchment

Allows you to view a mob's maximum hitpoints when using the EVALUATE command.

A hunter's horn
* 1x a silver mouthpiece
* 1x a silver flange
* 1x a broken hunter's horn
* 1x a leather carrying strap

BLOW HORN will cause mobs in the room to attack slower for the next ten seconds, however they will do more damage. This can only be done once every five minutes.

A hunter's knife
* 1x a knife blade
* 1x a ivory knife handle
* 1x a set of leather grips
* 1x a leather knife sheathe

Any mob you kill while the hunter's knife is in your inventory will respawn 10% faster than normal.

A set of hunter's tools
* A hunter's handbook
* A hunter's horn
* A hunter's knife

NOTE: Unlike other set item artifacts, all of those artifacts need to belong to you.

This artifact contains all the powers of its set items, with bonuses! Bonuses are as follows:

Book:  You will now also see the mob's current hitpoints.
Horn:  The effect will now last for 15 seconds, and will not increase the mob's damage.
Knife: You can PLANT KNIFE IN GROUND once per Howling, and it will reset most mobs for that area. 
Does not work on instances.

A Wand of Shrubbing
* 4x a sliver of wood

A fun gag item to prank your friends! Point this wand at either yourself or someone else and temporarily give them the guise of being shrubbed! (Un)Fortunately this is just an illusion, and only affects your in-room appearance - you can still act like normal. You also gain access to the RUSTLE command so you can shake your leaves in communication typical of shrubs. One rustle yes, two rustles no!

An angled mirror
* 4x a chunk of mirror and metal

This mirror allows you to look around corners, so you can be extra careful when moving through dangerous areas! Simply GLANCE <dir> <dir2> to work it.

A horn of the storm
* 4x a section of curved ivory

Blow this horn in a specific direction, and it will cause a great gust to rise up and make everybody line-of-sight from you in that direction fall over. Usage: BLOW <horn> <dir>.

A trapped gold coin
* 4x a piece of unmolded gold

Drop this coin somewhere, and it'll show up in the room as a typical single gold coin. However, when someone tries to take it they'll be stunned for a long time and you'll be alerted, allowing you to get the drop on them! Sadly cannot be forced.

A jar of mist
* 4x a piece of smoky glass

Releasing this mist prevents people from glancing in or out of the room it is released in, and also conceals the exits. Simply RELEASE <jar> to release the mist, which will last for 5 minutes or until you CAPTURE MIST again.

A wrap of the Althasai
* 4x a strip of black cloth

While wearing this wrap, any non-ally that attempts to sense your location (e.g. farsee) will suffer a backlash of significant damage.

A grapnel of steel
* 1x a length of silver rope
* 1x a sturdy iron piece
* 1x a flared hook piece

This tool will allow you to SWING up into the treetops or the rooftops. Usually only Syssin can get onto the rooftops with relative convenience, but now so can you!

These are PERMANENT. And will be BOUND TO YOU when you assemble them. Assemble with care! The assembled item disappears when assembled! These can be obtained, in most cases, from cryptic chests.

You will notice that some of them perform the same purpose, e.g. tail and tentacle. These are separate relics with separate pieces. They give identical mechanical purpose, but will have slightly different text in their usage.

Shark teeth
* 4x a shark's tooth

You can CHOMP an item in your inventory in order to destroy it. This will destroy your teeth, so you will need to REGROW TEETH afterwards.

A marsupial pouch
* 4x wombat skin

Grants you a skin pouch that allows you to interact with 'pouch' for the PUT, GET, and PROBE commands. Holds up to 100 items!

Chameleon skin
* 4x chameleon skin

Grants access to the CAMOUFLAGE ability which grants you a defence 
that will auto-hide you if you stand in the same room for five seconds 
after moving. Your hiding defence is lost on movement, unless you have 
acess to the hide skill naturally.

* 4x a clump of feathers

- Allows access to the WINGFLUTTER emote.
- Allows you to RUFFLE FEATHERS.

Snake skin
* 4x a scrap of snakeskin

- Allows you to SHED SKIN once an hour, leaving it behind as an item. 

Elemental shroud 
* 4x a glowing <type> crystal

- Six variants, one for each element (earth/fire/air/water/shadow/spirit).
- Changes your room description in LOOK to show you being wreathed in the specific element.
- Allows you to BLAST <target>, a basic attack that will use the specific element.
- You can obtain multiple shrouds, but only one may be activated at once. Use ELEMENT <type> to select. 

* 4x a crushed insect head

- Allows access to the MASTICATE command and MANDIBLES emote normally reserved for Horkval.

* 4x a broken animal horn

- Your HEADBUTT emote will deal minor damage to its target.
- You can HORNLOCK someone else with the horns relic and attempt to throw them to the ground.

* 4x a glowing firefly larvae

- You can GLOWON to suffuse your body with a gentle light, appending a coloured line to your description.
- You can FLASH to reveal any hidden people (SEARCH substitute).
- GLOWOFF to turn it off again.

* 4x a creeping vine tendril

- Grants a custom message when using swing up/swing down to climb trees.
- You can use ENTANGLE <target> as a free web tattoo effect.

Prehensile Tail
* 4x a caudal segment

- Confers the YANK ability.
- Can use TAILGRAB in place of GET.

* 4x a tentacle segment

- Confers the YANK ability.
- Can use TAILGRAB in place of GET.

* 4x a loose quill

Whenever someone attacks, you have a chance to deal minor (~30hp) damage back to them.

* 4x a loose spike

Whenever someone attacks, you have a chance to deal minor (~30hp) damage back to them.

Acid Breath
* 4x a gastric gland

Does poison damage to the target and gives disfigurement affliction. BREATHE ACID AT <target>

Scorpion tail
* 4x a metasomal segment

Venom strike. It can deliver any venom that can applied to weapons plus sumac. TAILSTRIKE <target> <venom>.

Retractable claws 
* 4x a loose claw

- Allows you to RETRACT or EXTEND claws. Basically an emote.
- Can RAKE <target> with extended claws for minor bleeding attack.

Tapetum Lucidum
* 4x a cat's eye

- Lets you use NIGHTSIGHT.
- At night time, you can use the EYEGLOW emote.

Nictating Membrane 
* 4x a reptile's eye

- Allows usage of the THIRDBLINK emote.
- Cures the blurry vision affliction when used. (cooldown)

Aquatic lamellae 
* 4x a fish's head

- Lets you breathe underwater without needing waterbreathing defence.
- Can use the GILLFLAP emote.

Raptor claws
* 4x a bird's claws

- Allows you to use the SWOOP command on grounded players while flying.
- Allows the TALONFLEX emote.

A membranous muscle
* 4x a membranous fiber

- You can AIRDASH to dash while flying.
- You can also WINGGRAB in place of GET.

Nazetu hide
* 4x a scrap of Nazetu flesh

- You can SECRETE a viscous slime that counts as standing firm.
- You can also REEK to increase stench level.

An arachnid's caudum
* 4x a spinneret

- You can WEBSPRAY people to web them without the tattoo.
- You can also SPINWEB to put a decorative web in the room.

Customized shield tattoo

These relics will customize the message you and others will see upon 
using your shield tattoo. Nine total varieties, each with their own 
unique message for when you TOUCH SHIELD (only customizes message, you 
need to supply the shield tattoo). If you have multiple, you can switch 
between them with RELIC SHIELD <type>.

Following types are available:
Fire       4x an elemental pigment of fire
Air        4x an elemental pigment of air
Water      4x an elemental pigment of water
Earth      4x an elemental pigment of earth
Shadow     4x an elemental pigment of shadow
Spirit     4x an elemental pigment of spirit
Lightning  4x an elemental pigment of storm
Vines      4x an elemental pigment of the wilds
Ice        4x an elemental pigment of the tundra

4x a phial of lizard's blood

This racial relic makes it so if are you are hidden, those with 
heatsight cannot see you in the room. Lifevision and other such skills 
still bypass it.

Cat's tongue

4x a feline's tongue

This racial relic allows access to the grooming ability normally 
reserved for Rajamalans. It also gives you the ability to LICK WOUNDS, 
which is an ability that requires and consumes 5 seconds of balance/equilibrium, and heals 20% of your health. Subject to standard restriction checks and has a 25 second cooldown.

afterimage racial
* 4x a shimmering essence

This racial relic ability can be activated with the AFTERIMAGE command. For the next 20 seconds, any movement you make will leave an afterimage of yourself in the room that will linger for a few minutes. Can only be used once every hour.

Flame-wreathed racial
* 4x a ball of condensed fire

Your character is now wreathed in flames, causing enemies to sometimes take fire damage when attacking you. Additionally this ability is stronger when being attacked by basic punch and kicks - it'll always fire (ha) and will also set the attacker ablaze. Great for those of you with friends that like to randomly kick you!

4x unique relic piece depending on the veil

These racial relics work like the cloak of obscurity, but instead changes the 'a cloaked figure' line to something new. You can own multiple veils and select which one you want in effect by using VEIL LIST and VEIL SELECT <type>, or VEIL SELECT NONE to turn them off.
