Descended from the first true vampire, Queen Belladona, the Consanguine are a group who have passed down the dark magics of Blood from generation to generation. Having sacrificed their souls for this gift, the Consanguine have become truly undead; the best their enemies can hope to do is to sever their spiritual essence from their physical form. Though they suffer from the light of the direct sun, the Consanguine have learned to dwell in the shadows and hunt their prey during the moonlight hours. The Consanguine have organized themselves in the mighty Houses of the Undead, to guide their thralls and protect their childer from those who would seek to destroy them.

The Consanguine are split into two major groups. The Vampires are the more physical of the Consanguine, raising the corpses of their victims into undead servitude. Their power over their childer is absolute, and many who bring folly to the race of Consanguine have been brought to justice by their sire. The Bloodborn study dark and powerful rituals of the Blood, using their own blood and that of their enemies to spread their power far across the lands. Both groups have an amazing facility of both their mind and body, and many innocent victims have fallen victim to their deep penetrating gaze.

The choice to become one of the Consanguine is a difficult and personal one. Although there is a 'cure' for the curse of the Blood, few who have attempted it have managed to purify themselves of their choice. Those who still wish to make join them need only remember that the gift is passed on from generation to generation, and thus they must find one who is willing to sire them.
