Tekal
A Tekal is a mortal of extreme experience who has transcended their former race
to take on the form of a nearly perfect mortal being. Their name derives
from an ancient word for 'Hollow One', and is a reference to their choice to
let their form be uninfluenced by the struggle between life and death. The
reward for their diligence in perfecting themselves is a superb physical form
that enables them to resist many attacks, as well as quick reflexes, both
mental and physical.
A devout Tekal may seek to become "filled" with the essence of a patron god. When this happens, s/he becomes something else entirely:
Azudim
An Azudim is a mortal who embodies the way of death in the eternal struggle.
Many years of preparation and dedication have lent them a form that surpasses
the other mortal races, with the ability to leech life from others and
destroy energy. Their physical forms are superb; they possess nearly limitless
amounts of endurance and willpower. Their name comes from an ancient word
which means 'death' or 'The Long Undoing.'
Yeleni
A Yeleni is a mortal who supports and protects life as the ultimate force in
the universe. Through diligence and reverence, these mortals have surpassed
their normal forms and taken up these near perfect forms to thwart the goals
of the Azudim. Their forms are beautiful and quick, and their wounds heal near
instantly. They can soar through the air with their beautiful wings, and
spread energy about the lands. Their name comes from an ancient word meaning
'life' or 'Vital One.' |
