| The geography of Aetolia is diverse and plentiful. It would take many tomes to accurately describe the splendor of all the stretches of this vast land. However, Aetolian geographers have compiled a list of some of the main locations and places of interest one may encounter while journeying in Aetolia. |

Sirroccian Mountain Range
A craggy, maze-like mountain range in the central part of the continent, the Siroccian mountains are home to the fierce creatures known as wolverines and poisonous tree snakes. It is rumored that a colony of dwarves once dwelled there, but the caverns have long since fallen to the hands of raiding orcs, and the mountains have grown dangerous to tread.
Tarea Mountain Range
The Tarea Mountains loom ominously north of the Mamashi Grasslands, their high peaks stretching into the vastness of the open sky. Inside the Tarea Mountains lies the secluded Valley of Kalebb. Rumor holds that a network of caverns can be found deep in the mountains, as well.
Vashnar Mountain Range
Rising high above the western hills of Sapience, the Vashnar Mountains are the tallest mountain ranges on the continent. Inhabited by wild, powerful mountain lions, the passes of these mountains are quite dangerous to tread. Within the encirclement of the Vashnars lie the paths to the hidden Aalen Forest as well as the deep valleys of Dun Barony. |
|
Dakhota
A long stretch of desolate hills springs up between the northern extremeties of the Mhojave desert and the rushing waters of the Pachachacha. Inhabited by roaming wolves, the Dakhota hills hide many secrets in their depths.
Putoran
The Putoran Hills lie on the east side of the Pash Valley (which is cradled on the west by the Shamtota hills). Low, but fairly craggy, its main feature is the Valley of Lodi. |
|
Dun Valley
A deep valley surrounded on one side by the Vashnar mountains and bordered by a deep swamp, Dun Valley is filled with jungle growth and craggy cliffs. Gorillas, jaguars, opossums, and other creatures populate its deep forests. The center of the valley is occupied by a towering volcano, on which the Dun Fortress stands.
Pash Valley
The Pash Valley, created by the Shamtota hills to the West and the Putoranhills to the east is the breadbasket of Shallam and Jaru. A warm, lush place that is fed by the waters of the Pachacacha river, which runs through it, it is also a favoured grazing spot for antelopes and the cheetah that prey upon them.
Scidve
Nestled to the southwest of the Tree of Life, in the Vashnars, the Valley of Scidve is an area that once contained a small village of Xorani which traded peacefully with the city of Thera. Historians of Thera claimed that one day traders with the valley no longer felt safe on the journeys and that a foul curse had fallen over the valley. The creatures that once inhabited the forests became dark and sinister, and the villagers slowly were transformed.

Minia
The land of Minia is a fanciful one with little relation to the rest of the world. It was created by the Gods strictly for use by young players. There are three main areas within Minia: The Pixie Village, The Ember Tower, and the Kobold Dungeon. Within the Pixie Village you will find a community of pixies. The Ember Tower is the dwelling place of the Imps and their hellcat companions, while in the Kobold Dungeon you will find quite a few rather filthy kobolds, as well as some firesprites.
Kalebb
The Valley of Kalebb has been known to travellers for centuries and was often used as a waypoint for those heading north into the vast tundra. In recent times, however, the Valley has supported a small settlement of people intent on keeping watch for signs of the prophecies of Kalebb. To this purpose, a tall watchtower was constructed high in the mountains allowing a clear view of the surrounding land. The prophecies tell of a great terror descending from the north, and it is this event that the people of the Valley await and prepare for.
Lodi
Like the land of Minia, the Valley of Lodi is a special place that exists only for those under level 20. It is perhaps a darker place than Minia, where one may encounter cave bats, wildcats, sheep, and a number of intelligent humanoids who have quests to give. Though all fairly easy and accessible to those new to Aetolia, two of the quests do require that you leave Lodi to complete them. It is further rumored that there is a secret passage in the back of the caves, and you would do well to discover it. |

Pachacacha
Winding through the center of the continent, the Pachachacha flows from its beginnings in the western mountains to its foaming end in the Peshwar Delta near Shallam.
Perilaus
A great underground river, Perilaus takes its beginning in a deep gorge witin the dungeons of Azdun. Plunging far beneath the earth, it flows northward until it falls into the Black Lake at the center of the City of Djeir. Its dangerous waters are inhabited with deadly spinebacks.

Bloodloch
A dark, carvernous city with an even darker reputation, the city of Bloodloch is home to such beings as vampires, Infernal knights, and the shadowed Indorani. It is located within a mountain amidst the sands of the Mhojave desert. The city itself is rumoured to be built around a great lake of fire, though few have dared to brave the undead guards to verify these rumours.
Delos
The island of Delos lies in the middle of the mighty Zaphar river on the east edge of Sapience. Delos has defined itself as a place devoted, in the main, to the arts of combat. Here you will find the Fields of Valor, a place where any who choose may do battle free of the worry of losing experience. Here you will also find a collection of gladiators and weaponsmasters that is equalled nowhere else in the land. Led by Colbey, they represent mastery of many of the weapons to be found in Aetolia.
Djeir
An ancient city inhabited by a proud race called the Djeirani, the City of Djeir lies far beneath the earth around the shores of the Black Lake. It is ruled by an Empress and three noble houses, who are in constant struggle with each other for power.
Hashan
The ruins of Hashan lie in the northeast of the continent, among the northern forests. While the origins of the city itself are shrouded in mystery, the ruins have become the dwelling place of several troll tribes as well as a number of Xorani.
Kelsys
Recently discovered, Kelsys appears to be the ancestral home of the Kelki - a race of machine-building creatures loyal to the Goddess of the Seas. Built beneath the ocean, Kelsys is made habitable by huge domes that separate its streets and homes from the crushing ocean above.
Moghedu
The great underground city of the Mhuns, Moghedu is ruled by the Great Mhunna. The mines and city of Moghedu are located in the Mhojave desert, not too far from the reaches of Bloodloch. Much of the gems and metals of the land come from the deep mines.
Riparium
Home to merfolk, the city of Riparium lies far underwater in the eastern ocean. It is ruled by King Nissandar of the merfolk, though rumours say that a political struggle is constantly occurring between the king and his son. The path to Riparium leads through dangerous reefs infested by every oceanic predator from dangerous moray eels to toothy tiger sharks.
Shallam
The last Bastion of Light in the Midnight Age, the city of Shallam rests near the Peshwar delta in the southeastern part of the continent. Protected from intruders by towering walls, it is the home of such protectors of light and truth as the Luminaries, Paladin Knights, and the Daru.
Spinesreach
The Citadel of Spinesreach is a grim fortress in the northern reaches of the continent. Once the home of ancient Ankyreans, the Citadel has recently been re-opened to become the home of Syssin - the shadowed assassins loyal to the God of Artifice - as well as the mysterious Cabalists. A number of vampires who have splintered from Bloodloch also reside within the city. |

A small village nestled near the Green Lake, Attica survives through its fishing industry. The inhabitants of Attica are hard working and friendly people, despite some strange occurrences that happen in the village once a year.
Jaru
Located near the City of Shallam, Jaru is primarily a fishing village. Its inhabitants share much of the same beliefs as their Shallamese counterparts, which has lead to Jaru's historic protection by the city of Shallam from raiding forces.
El'Jazira
The oasis of El'Jazira is the sole island of green in the shifting Mhojave desert. Ruled by a despotic Shah, the people of El'Jazira nevertheless produce some of the best leather products in Sapience, and are the primary providers of kawhe - a favourite drink among many.
Saluria
Deep within the jungles of Itzatl lies the village of Saluria, a sprawling settlement of craftsmen and traders. Although a prosperous village, Saluria's history is haunted with strange occurrences seeming to deal with some dark force inhabiting the surrounding Itzatl forest.
Eleusis
Nestled deep in the Ithmian forests, the village of Eleusis was built by lovers of nature. Sentinels and Druids frequent its tree-lined paths. |
|
Aalen
Hidden behind the stony curtain of the Vashnar Mountains, the redwood forest of the Aalen is the ancestral home of the Tsol'aa.
Aureliana
A beautiful, sunny forest, the Aureliana is the home of many small woodland creatures such as deer and rabbits. It lies directly east of the Morgun Forest.
Ithmia
The Northern and Western Ithmia forests cover most of the northeastern part of the continent. Primarily dominated by pines and walnut trees, they are the home of beautiful woodland creatures known as the dryads and their eternal nemeses - the buckawns.
Morgun
The most dangerous of all the forests of Sapience, the Morgun Forest is inhabited by living trees. No animals are welcome beneath its dark eaves, and many dangers lurk unnoticed in the mist-covered valleys of the forest. The only creatures that live in the forest are the dark dryads of the trees and their companions, the sorrowful Nayar.
Itzatl
The deep jungles of Itzatl are both beautiful and dangerous. Many predators dwell there, unknown and often unnoticed by any save the skilled hunters of Saluria. It is rumored that the jungles of Itzatl stretch further than the village of Saluria, yet no one has found a way to bypass the thick growth preventing further exploration. |

Azdun
The ruins of a great castle hide the Azdun dungeons. Its top levels are inhabited by goblins, whose mistress is the Demonic Spider Queen Llazuth, a powerful being who dwells in the Black Keep in the eastern part of Azdun. The lower levels of Azdun are the domain of a fearsome vampire Lord Zsarachnor, his undead armies roaming the crumbling passages. An underground forest lies within Zsarachnor's domain, though its origins are as yet undiscovered.
Barony of Dun
The gluttonous Baron dwells within an ancient castle occupied by his armies of orcs and ogres. Two tiny villages are nestled beneath the castle where the craftsmen and the women of ogres and orcs live. The warriors, however, are largely confined to the fortified halls of the castle proper.
Belladona's Keep
The Queen of Vampires Belladona dwells in a stony keep in the north of the realm. Hidden by a misty lake filled with deadly vipers, the Keep itself is a death trap for any unwary adventurers. Minotaurs, hell hounds, demonic creatures and even a dragon dwell within, guarding the keep of the Vampire Queen.
Black Keep
The home of Llazuth, the Demonic Spider Queen, the Black Keep is a fortified castle in the depths of the Azdun dungeon. Spiders and goblins inhabit its halls.
Rock
Partially natural caverns and partially a constructed keep, the Rock is home to several unusual creatures from the fearsome Beastlord to the mysterious Ophidians and Cultists. It is located in the midst of the Liruma scrubland. |
|
Mhojave

|
Liruma Scrublands
The scrubland of Liruma was once a bright and thriving savannah. It has since been torn by conflict and reduced to a struggling wasteland of scattered trees and jutting stones. The animals of the savannah have fought hard for their survival, and have grown strong in the harsh terrain of their new home. Deep within the Liruma sits the village of Mitrine, where the tribal hunters of the same name live their lives.
Mamashi Grassland
The splendour of the Mamashi Grasslands spans the northern extremity of the continent, ending where the mysterious Tarea Mountains rise to the north. A small, friendly forest lies to in the southwest corner of the Mamashi. Visitors may enjoy the many sights of the vast expanse of land, which include grass, dirt and rocks. |
|
Mannaseh Swamp
The Mannaseh swamp is a treacherous place that so far, none have really explored, due to the fact that when one enters, one quickly finds oneself turning in circles and ending up where one entered it. It is located at the junction of the Pachacacha and Urubamba rivers. |
